Buckwheat Hull Filling

The zipper in all of our zafu cushions is important for two main reasons: adjusting the support of your zafu and washing the cover.
We've pre-filled our zafus to a level that most people find very comfortable. That said, sometimes your zafu will feel even better with a little more or a little less filling. If that's the case, just open the zipper and add or remove buckwheat hulls. Easy!
As for washing, a zipper allows you to empty all the buckwheat hulls out of your zafu cushion so that you can throw the cover in the wash. Check out any of our zafu cushion product pages for more specific care instructions.
